My name is
Zenith Lairikyengbam from Northeastern part of India, Manipur. I am an alumni
from Miami Dade College, Kendall Campus. FL. Through Community College
Initiative Program (2013 – 2014) and did my major in Entrepreneurship and doing
my Bachelor of Business Management in Darwin School of Business Guwahati,
Assam. India. I’m on my last semester and will be completing my graduation
certificate by May 2015.
I wouldn’t be lying to say that I’m the luckiest
person because of the CCI Program and the US Department of State’s for giving
such opportunity. Now I am involving in some NGO”s as a volunteer, like Union
of Social Upliftment (USU) and Global Network for Equality (GNE) and also I’m
working in a part time online job surveys as well. I have been dreaming to
become a social entrepreneur for State Manipur & wanted to contribute for
all the youths in our Society.

Lairikyengbam brought up from a middle class family and being all alone as a
family pillar have lots of responsibilities, as the only daughter and being a single
mother I thought I will finished up my
studies and will stay a simple life for my own with a job. But, CCI Program
have change me from a simple Manipuri lady to a social minded, change maker,
social worker who can see the sufferings, sorrows, lackness of my small
community. This is all because of the Volunteering service that I have done in
US during our course. The experience I gained from volunteering makes me more
helpful towards choosing my commitment in helping, supporting and motivating
myself to my community. Not only this, I started writing articles on my
experience and blogs. My Internship makes me grow more personally and
professionally. I changed myself in many ways, such as I dressed up myself more
professionally, I can manage my time, I’m not scared of interacting people, I
gain more confidence to what I ought to do, My technology knowledge is keep on updating,
I feel like I have a lot to teach and share to my society, I became more
patient, I can handle and can solve my problems more easily etc.

I have
change in a way that I can’t even believe myself, Now I’m involving in some
community services like going to schools and colleges and sharing my experience
with our community youths and also I involved in volunteering service in
Agri-horticulture trade fair, I join Global Network for Equality and volunteer
in any possible way wherever I can, with multiple task, and also planning to
bring up GNE in Manipur and start our Manipur survey. I join Union of Social
Upliftment as a member. USU is also a local social sector in my home area work
for our society in all lackness to uplift it. Therefore, in this way I’m giving
and sharing my experience and my knowledge with my community. The main thing in
this is I’m just loving it in what I’m doing, I feel “I like this from before”
but was unable to identify myself.
